Classroom Is Not The Classroom Of Yesterday - 1050 Words

The classroom of today is not the classroom of yesterday. We are accountable so much more to the learning needs of our students. The use of technology in the classroom is changing the way in which we teach our students. We have a responsibility to prepare students for the demands of an ever-changing world, through facilitating learning in a technology rich environment, where students and teachers don’t just learn about technology, they use it to achieve powerful learning and teaching and improve student learning outcomes. The challenge is to create engaging, supportive learning environments and opportunities that stimulate, extend and deepen student learning. These environments should incorporate seamless use of technologies students use†¦show more content†¦Within the United States, Partnerships for 21st century learning developed an education framework with teachers, educational and business leaders that provides a list of skills students need to succeed in work, l ife and social community. The framework sees the core subjects of reading, writing, and numeracy supported by learning and innovation skills (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity). Furthermore, the 21st century learner would see further life and career skills, information, media and technology skills integrated across the core subject matters.
